FORGOTTEN BUILDINGS

This was an in-class project that I fell in LOVE with. The assignment was to go out and find architecture, I didn't want to focus on buildings, and let's just say in the metro Detroit, tall structures. Or the Grosse Pointe landmarks, those are things I feel as if people have seen in one way or another. I wanted to capture something different, pretty in its way.  These building, to my knowledge, only has 2 shops open. It has issues nd looks like a fixer upper. I loved its character, and all primary colors, red, green, yellow, blue, made B&W for unity.
I wanted to capture its brokenness and its quirks, it's pretty if you look at it long enough, in my opinion. For this series, I started by walking around this building and capturing all the little things or things that stuck out to me, like the ground mailbox and spout on the wall. Then I focused on getting a 360 effect around the building, trying to capture all its assets, like you’re walking down the street yourself.

GROWTH is funny—positive, negative, backward, or forward. Whatever the case, it should be welcomed. Life has taught me many things, and Art has allowed me to remember, personify, and document my journey as a person and artist.
