Through collages I created a series of small posters, I find both peaceful and invigorating ways to play with type and meaning in images. Creating the relationship between us and ice cream, I expanded my thinking on ice cream and saw how much and how many different ways we connect with it. The shift from digital to tactile work allowed me to engage more directly with the materials, fostering a deeper creative process. While I created three collages digitally, the majority were crafted by hand and then scanned into Photoshop for refinement.
Designed for an audience of play and college enthusiasts and peers, this project emphasizes storytelling. The fun thing I took away from this is how many things ice cream can represent and how it came to be an American classic. What seems like just a scoop is also joy, relief, a pat on the back, a treat as good as a liquor, something that gets the family together, and more. These collages symbolize that thought and give a bigger meaning to the simple words ice cream. In case you were wondering, we have George Washington to thank!

GROWTH is funny—positive, negative, backward, or forward. Whatever the case, it should be welcomed. Life has taught me many things, and Art has allowed me to remember, personify, and document my journey as a person and artist.
