Picking someone who can inspire you is a hard choice, but I eventually settled on John Maeda. Since I've worked through his books in school, I already felt like I knew so much about him to be able to make a bibliography. He has taken huge leaps in the art world and has even added a (for art) into the STEM program. I chose John because he is a symbol of simplicity, and I wanted to make something based on the law of simplicity, “subtract the obvious and add the meaningful.”. I chose to “code” a book because I knew I could make it an accent to the information inside the book, while also representing the art John Meada makes and uses.John Maeda's notebook aimed to design a book that chronicles the journey of John Maeda, a prominent figure in the world of design and technology. The target audience included design students and enthusiasts interested in Maeda’s contributions and career trajectory. The design needed to resonate with a student’s experience, emulating the feel of a personal notebook one might use in Maeda’s class. Hence why, I added some personal notes I've taken from John over the years.
Process
Embracing a trial-and-error approach, experimenting with different layouts and design elements. I encountered several challenges, particularly with how to organize and present the dense content in a visually appealing manner. implemented a grid system to manage the book’s complex layout, ensuring that information was organized clearly and coherently.
Type - I chose Futura because it seemed very simplistic with a touch of personality, that perfectly complements John.
Color Scheme - the color blue was picked because it’s John's favorite color, and also it contributed to my story. This notebook was made to symbolize code within a physical object.

GROWTH is funny—positive, negative, backward, or forward. Whatever the case, it should be welcomed. Life has taught me many things, and Art has allowed me to remember, personify, and document my journey as a person and artist.
